A burrowing owl stands on the ground at the base of this mug, yellow claws spread wide, head tipped back to look straight up at you. He’s small, serious, and endlessly curious about whoever is holding this cup.

The glaze mimics the prairie he calls home: a textured brown inlay for the packed earth, and a micro-crystalline grass green that catches the light.

For those who keep looking up, and who feel at home wherever the grass is wide and the sky is big.

Mug holds approximately 15 oz of your favorite beverage. Mug measures 3.25” wide at mouth and 4.5” tall. Owl measures approximately 1” tall and .5” wide. Each piece is handmade, making each unique and one of a kind. Bottom has maker’s stamp and individual piece number 122510.

*Every so often, a piece takes a slightly different path than I intended. I'm offering it at a reduced price for someone who will love it all the same. This piece is has a small imperfection with minimal crawling on the inside of the mug (where glaze did not adhere). The piece is fully vitrified meaning it is still fully sealed and functional; it is just a cosmetic flaw. It is fully functional and does not impact the durability.

All glazes are lead free and food safe. Hand-washing recommended. Do not microwave.
