Wildflowers and grasses are carved into the surface of this small vase, glazed in peach and warm yellow at the top, flowing down into meadow green at the base, like a field at golden hour. Tucked into a nook, a purple flower holds a sleepy bumblebee, head deep into the pollen center so all you can see of the bee is its bum and pollen-dusted legs. A second bee rests on the vase itself, sampling the pollen as if the whole piece were part of the meadow. Gold dots drift through the air like pollen on a warm breeze, and a fine gold outline traces the flower and the bee’s pollen-drunk bum.

For those who find joy in the honey-gold glow of a late summer afternoon.
