A grizzly bear fishes from his rock at the rim while five hand-sculpted westslope cutthroat trout swim below. The scene is joyful on the surface, but it carries weight — grizzlies depend on cutthroat trout as a critical food source, particilarly in the spring and early summer before other food becomes abundant. The relationship runs deep and the stakes are real. Cuthroat trout are in serious decline across their native range, threatened by habitat loss, warming waters, invasive species, and altered stream flows. When the trout disappear, the bears feel it. So does everything else. This bowl was made to honor the beauty of the relationship and the fragility of it. A piece for people who love wild places and understand what it means to lose them.

Bowl measures 2.5” tall and 5” wide at opening. Fox measures approximately .75” long and .75” tall. Each piece is handmade, making each unique and one of a kind. Bottom has maker’s stamp and individual piece number 112318.
