On the outside, a decaying log — wood grain encompassing the entire form, an iridescent beetle ticked near a knothole, polypore mushrooms climbing the handle and providing a comfortable finger catch. Flip it over and you’ll find what lives beneath (or take a sip and your companion will see!): a yellow-spotted salamander nestled in moss, bright dots against soft green. The spotted salamander is a creature of the woods, secretive and rarely seen. This cup is made around the idea that the most interesting things are usually hidden - under logs, under leaves, under the surface of things. A mug for the patient and the curious.
Mug holds approximately 6 oz of your favorite beverage. Mug measures 3.25” wide at mouth and just under 3” tall. Salamander measures approximately 1.75” long and 1.75” wide. Each piece is handmade, making each unique and one of a kind. Bottom has maker’s stamp and individual piece number 002-26.
All glazes are lead free and food safe. Hand-washing recommended. Do not microwave.
