This little lovebird pair sit perched on a branch, nuzzling inside their cozy heart-shaped mug hollow, rimmed in gold. Green tracks encompass the mug, tracking their love all the way around in the shape of a heart. Exterior of the mug is a bone white, while the interior is glazed with a subtle blushing pink.

Growing up, I had a lovebird as a pet. Her name was Olive, as she reminded me of a pimento-stuffed olive with her green body and coral face. This mug was a joy to make, as I relived many joyful moments I shared with her. She would shred perfect strips of newspaper and magazines, moving from one side to the other like a typewriter. When enough strips were shredded, she would stuff each one into the back of her tail feathers. We always joked she wanted more extravagant plumage, but after some reading, we learned this is how lovebirds carry materials to build their nests. This mug has a lot of Olive love packed into it.

Stoneware mug measures 4” tall and 3.25” wide at the mouth. Holds approximately 14 fl oz. Mug handle is on the left, when looking at birds. Heart nook is outlined in 22k gold luster. Each piece is handmade, making each unique and one of a kind. Bottom has maker’s stamp and individual piece number 12111.

All glazes are lead free and food safe. Hand-washing recommended as the gold will dull over time. DO NOT microwave.
